Agility through Purpose

We need a philosophy of purpose, a logic of quality and ways to measure qualitative change. We need a methodology of potential and opportunity, of turning points and critical factors, of risk and uncertainty, constant and timing, "jump" and continuity. We need a dialectic of polarity in which unity and diversity are defined as simultaneous and necessary poles of the same essence.

Peter F. Drucker, Landmarks of Tomorrow, 1957, p.15

In the beginning of 2017 DiaLogos got a fabulous invitation from Steve Denning to be part of an international remote group of people who would provide him with feedback and advice in the process of his writing the new book The Age of Agile – How Smart Companies Are Transforming the Way Work Gets Done. This was really an exciting experience. The book will be coming February 2018. Publisher is AMACOM.

Steve is the author of eight books, including The Leader's Guide to Radical Management: Reinventing the Workplace for the 21st Century, which is being published by Jossey-Bass in October 2010. In 2003, he was ranked as one of the world’s top two hundred business gurus by Tom Davenport and Larry Prusak in their book, What’s the Big Idea?

The Leitmotif of the Global Peter Drucker Forum 2017 was Growth & Inclusive Prosperity. It states that complexity due to globalization, technological innovation and pressures for economic efficiency all of them they are disrupting our societies. So, management must be at the heart of the effort to reconcile these forces and trace a viable roadmap between continuity and disruptive change.

Disruption is a matter of fact. Due to this, what Peter Drucker has stated already in 1957 (see quote above), is more relevant than ever before. We need an attitude of purpose, so that we can find a path through disruption. We need purpose that creates value. We need agility in our mindsets, decisions and actions to face effectively the upcoming challenges in this Age of Agile (Steve Denning).

Our TSOT – The School Of Thinking has been established for organizations aiming at training, experiencing, and learning about how to deal with growing complexity. And how to develop an agile corporate culture. Agility is the answer to face a VUCA world (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous environment). In this context let us talk about what we can do for you.
